Boy with Down Syndrome Started Mainstream School – On Day Five, the Principal Called His Parents and Said, ‘Come Immediately’

After years of homeschooling our son with Down syndrome, we finally enrolled him in a regular school. Every afternoon, he came home smiling, excitedly telling us about his classes and new friends.
Then, on his fifth day, the principal called.

“Mrs. Parker, you and your husband need to come to school immediately.”

My stomach tightened.

“Is Ethan okay?”

“He’s safe, but there are two police officers in my office.”

I froze.

Police officers? At my six-year-old son’s school? Schoolsupplies

“What happened?” I asked, barely managing to keep my voice steady.
