1. Find other solutions

One of the most useful things to check is whether a meat or poultry product contains added solution.

You may see text like  “contains X% added solution,”  followed by the ingredients in that solution. For poultry, labels may also include terms like  “brine,” “in its own brine,” “marinated,”  or  “seasoned.”  This means that the solution was added during processing.
